Barbara

Barbara’s home is a haven of hospitality, culture, and warmth, where guests are welcomed with open arms and an appreciation for art, social connections, and fine dining. Nestled in a stunning 17th-century building in the heart of Rome’s historic Trastevere district, just steps from Piazza Trilussa, her elegant home offers the perfect setting to experience the city's vibrant atmosphere.

Jean-Yves

Born in Vietnam and raised in France, Chef Jean-Yves has mastered the art of blending culinary techniques and traditions, earning him the title of Masterchef France winner in 2012. Based in Paris, he brings his passion for gastronomy and hospitality to life, creating unforgettable dining experiences. After two decades as an interior designer for a prestigious group, Jean-Yves took a bold leap, dedicating himself fully to his two greatest passions: exceptional cuisine and the art of welcoming guests.

Martine

Martine and her husband Olav are Amsterdam locals with a deep love for cooking, entertaining, and bringing people together. Believing that there are no strangers, only friends they haven’t met yet, they have dedicated their lives to hospitality and gastronomy. After successfully running a well known traditional French restaurant in Amsterdam, they decided to embrace a more intimate dining experience—welcoming guests into their own home.

Nazareth

Nazareth founded Delina Ethiopian Food in 2013 as a street food stall in West London, bringing authentic Ethiopian flavors to local markets. Since then, she has expanded across the UK, working with top caterers and food markets. Now, in her Shepherd’s Bush Market space, she offers a welcoming spot to eat, drink, and gather, along with hands-on Ethiopian & Eritrean cooking classes for those eager to explore traditional flavors.

What guests are saying

  • Barbara is an amazing chef, fun hostess and beautiful and creative woman. Barbara's event was my first EatWith experience and it exceeded my expectations - even with the top star recommendations for EatWith. It was an awesome experience and a great way to enjoy life as a Roman. I've already highly recommended Barbara for friends planning to visit Rome.

  • Dinner at Martines was a highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. The dinner was wonderful, and the conversation lively. It was just really interesting to talk to both Martine and Olav about their city, current events and international travel. The food was excellent, in fact we later found ourselves at a grocery searching for the particular ginger she used in the appetizer. It was a very special evening. I highly recommend the experience.

  • Our meal with Jean-Yves was extraordinary. Unusually, we were the only two to book the night we went, so we had a thrilling meal experience prepared just for us. Both genial chefs spent a lot of time talking to us about the food, their countries’ history, and other fascinating topics. The setting exquisite, even more impressive considering it is the chef’s cosy home. How a meal of this quality and complexity was prepared in what is essentially a small domestic kitchen space is difficult to imagine. As for the food, it is some of the best and most unusual I have ever tasted. Time and again, I failed to identify the ingredients I was tasting. Some were new to me – Vietnamese herbs, pandan-infused champagne – and other familiar things – watermelon, sweet potato – had been elevated and transformed beyond recognition (in a good way). My favourite course was the first one: four small vegetable and rice noodle rolls served with umami-splashed endive chasers. The meal ended with a glittery macaron confection that sent us, contented, into the Parisian night.
